El Hornillo

El Hornillo is a hamlet situated on the slope of the Agaete gorge, which can be reached by car via the road to Gáldar. A lovely walk starts in Los Berrazales, in the Agaete Valley, and climbs through El Sao up to El Hornillo.

A Trail Packed with Attractions

From Los Berrazales, or further up from El Sao, a road and then a path lead us up to El Hornillo, where a wide variety of landscapes, plant species and historical remains can be discovered. This is the route that fishermen and farmers used to take in the past to barter their produce or simply to gather forest products in the Tamadaba pine forest (firewood, pine needles, etc.).
El Hornillo is a small settlement with cave dwellings and a cosy little square where the ‘Santa Teresa’ chapel is situated.
