El Risco Beach

The seemingly endless sea, crystal-clear water, powerful waves that fill you with energy, black sand that shimmers in a riot of colours thanks to the minerals it contains, trees that absorb the moisture from the mist rising from the sea, the mountain that encircles the beach and provides the perfect backdrop, large stones smoothed by the waves and covered in a thick layer of green seaweed…
It is also one of the least visited beaches on the island that can be reached by car. In winter in particular, the pebbles leave little room for sand, which makes swimming difficult. But during the rest of the year, it is an ideal beach for having fun in the waves without going too far out to sea, so that the currents cannot pull you away from the shore.
