Agaete’s Valley
Although the Agaete Valley (Valle de Agaete) stretches from the small settlement of El Sao down to the sea, the term ‘El Valle’ (the valley) usually refers to the mountainous area to the east of the town of Agaete.
An Extraordinarily Fertile Valley
The lush and beautiful Agaete Valley, dotted with fruit orchards, offers breathtaking views of the Tamadaba massif with its dense Canarian pine forest. Here you will also find traditional buildings that have been restored and serve as accommodation for nature tourism, particularly for keen walkers. The Agaete Valley currently has the largest area of cultivated land in the municipality. The main crops are citrus fruits (its oranges are very popular due to their intense flavour), tropical fruits (mangoes and avocados), Muscat grapes and, of course, Arabica coffee (of the Typica variety).
