El Puerto de las Nieves
As well as the chapel that gives the place its name, the ‘Ermita de las Nieves’, El Puerto de las Nieves is a stretch of beach popular with locals. It also boasts the widest range of restaurants and shopping options.
A Small Fishing Harbour
Weather permitting, the fishermen of Agaete set out to sea in the afternoon. They mainly catch squid, sardines, cichlids, bluefin tuna, horse mackerel, etc. The catch is sold at daybreak directly in the harbour and later on in the street, where several fishmongers offer their wares to passers-by. You can also enjoy the fish in any of the many restaurants at the harbour, whose buildings, with their colours and shapes, are reminiscent of the fishing ports on the Mediterranean.
